Job Summary: The ChildFund
International Regional Human Resources Manager (RHRM) will be responsible for
providing leadership, facilitation, implementation, delivery and proactive
consultation of global human resources strategies and programs for the African
region.
International Regional Human Resources Manager (RHRM) will be responsible for
providing leadership, facilitation, implementation, delivery and proactive
consultation of global human resources strategies and programs for the African
region.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- The RHRM serves as a HR leader to the
National Offices and is a liaison between ChildFund International
headquarters and the Regional and National Offices for all matters related
to Human Resources. - The RHRM will provide strategic and
proactive input on organizational design, talent management and succession
planning, among other areas. The RHRM is a resource for NO leadership on
employee relations issues, providing coaching and leadership or
consultation on employee relations investigations. - S/he will regularly review and recommend
changes to NO HR policies and review local labor law changes, remuneration
policies and recruitment strategies. - The RHRM will ensure comprehension and
compliance with relevant internal and external policies, laws and
regulations. - The incumbent also serves as a key liaison
between National, Regional and Headquarters offices, the RHRM communicates
HR initiatives and programs and provides implementation support. - S/he is responsible for non-national staff
contracting process including documentation, renewal, relocation resources
and collaboration with Regional finance staff to ensure accurate payment
and accrual of benefits and allowances. - The RHRM will steer global HR project that
advances the function and strengthens the organization’s leadership and/or
competitive advantage worldwide.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant should preferably hold a Bachelor’s
degree is required. Possession of an MBA or Master’s degree in Human
Resources highly desirable. - At least eight to ten years of
demonstrated human resource generalist experience in a
multi-national/multi-cultural organization servicing multiple countries. - Past HR experience in both for-profit and
non-profit sectors desired. - Demonstrated ability working in a matrix environment;
strong team building skills. - Working knowledge of domestic and
international functional human resources areas (employee relations,
organizational development, remuneration, HRIS), with a focus on policy
and procedure implementation, project management and/or facilitation of
programs. - Proven ability to diagnose human resources
operational problems and determine and apply strategic solutions. - Demonstrated experience in facilitation of
workshops/training programs. - Cross-cultural experience derived from
working in culturally diverse-developing environments; prior experience
living and working in an international community preferred. - Strong organizational skills, with ability
to meet deadlines. Strong critical thinking skills; sound reasoning based
on standard human resources principles and practices. - Ability to apply discretion and maintain
confidential information. - Computer literacy skills i.e. Proficient
with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Strong communication,
presentation and documentation skills. Significant travel requirements. - Must be fluent in English and; fluency in
Portuguese desired.
