4 NGO Career Placements – Manager Livestock/ Regional Coordinator, Poultry and Livestock at BRAC International

BRAC, one of the largest Non-Governmental Development Organization in
the world, working in a number of countries in Africa and Asia on poverty
alleviation Programs, is registered in Uganda as BRAC Uganda. The organization
implements integrated development approach combining Education, Health,
Agriculture, Livestock, Adolescent Empowerment and Microfinance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Actively coordinate program activities in
    respective branch offices and areas as well as Country Office management
    activities.
  • Oversee the vaccination and de-warming
    activities in poultry and livestock program at field level.
  • Manage the training and refresher programs
    for all as required.
  • Support events management such as
    workshops, seminars, and essential meetings as well as field visits at all
    levels.
  • In charge of the preparation of all the
    different status reports on all activities in the program timely.
  • Maintain the extension program 80%
    frequent field visits and proper monitoring of program activities.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The candidates should hold BSc. in
    Veterinary Medicine (BVM), Bachelors of Animal production. Possession of a
    Master’s degree in a relevant subject will be of high preferences.
  • At least 1-2 years working experience in
    same position or related field.
  • Sound professional knowledge in the field
    of communication and networking in development sector.
  • Leadership and good presentation skills
    are a must.
  • Must be ready to work under pressure to
    meet tight deadlines, with no or minimal supervision required, as well as
    good decision and problem solving skills.
  • Proven ability to identify priority
    actions, generate and complete work plans within short time frames
