resources.
Job Summary: The Assistant Internal Auditor will carry out
various types of internal audit assignments and reviews in accordance with
accepted standards to determine the adequacy of internal controls, efficiency
of the policies and procedures and to ensure adherence to applicable laws and
regulations.
This position is to be filled by a Ugandan University graduate/Post
graduate having at least two years industry work experience under the similar
capacity.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Regularly check and verify the daily
    vouchers initiated by the Accounts department as to their completeness and
    accuracy.
  • Investigate the assigned internal audit
    assignment subject to obtain a working knowledge of the nature of the
    subject
  • Identify key risk areas and flow chart the
    business process.
  • Develop the assigned audit plan including
    scope and objective of the audit and audit procedures, obtain Group
    Internal Auditor’s approval.
  • Conduct tests, evaluate the results and
    draw conclusions and obtain Group Internal Auditor’s approval.
  • Draft audit report and obtain approval
    from Group Internal auditor.
  • Follow up on implementation of corrective
    options.
  • Carry out special assignments as may be
    assigned by Group Internal Auditor.
  • Perform any other duties as required by
    the Group Internal Auditor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant should possess relevant
    professional qualifications to do the aforementioned duties and
    responsibilities
  • Proficient in English language, both
    written and spoken.
  • Possess the ability to demonstrate good
    judgment / analytical skill and a strong learning curve to understand the
    company’s business processes.
  • Working knowledge of windows and Microsoft
    Office applications.
