Job Summary: The
incumbent will support East African Security Officer (EASO) in directing and
co-coordinating overall activities of the department to achieve maximum
efficiency and safety measures in order to provide an efficient and
professional security service to Ugacof Ltd., its staff and patrons.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Security
– To include internal and contracted security guards and the use of the
CCTV. - Fire
Fighting -The training and maintenance of all firefighting equipment on
site. - Health
and Safety – Ensure that the policies that are in place are being adhered
to. - Stock
Control – Ensuring that the correct procedures that are documented are
being followed. - Warehouse
Maintenance – The securing of contractors for required maintenance work
whilst adhering to the environment policy - Maintains
environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls. - Maintain
all security related equipment and working areas to a high standard of
cleanliness and safety and ensure all defects are reported - Maintains
organization’s stability and reputation by complying with legal
requirements. - Ensures
operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements;
following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions;
calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques. - Actively
contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. - Offer
technical support in an emergency or evacuation situation, in a calm and
professional manner. Actively provide information to any emergency
services when requested to do so. - As
part of the team undertake regular testing of fire alarms and other
security equipment, completing the appropriate logs, and notifying the
Security Supervisor or EASO of any issues of malfunctioning equipment. - Actively
maintain the confidentiality of information to which Officers will be
privy, be this around individuals or security sensitive information in
relation to the Buildings, and using appropriate language, particularly
within working environment. - Carry
out any other duties as may reasonably be required by the EASO, Chief
Operations Officer, and management.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The
applicant should preferably have attended a Training in law enforcement,
as well as Basic First Aid Training, Fire fighting, military or business
management. - Extensive
administrative and/or supervisory experience, of which at least one year
is in a commodity Company or governmental law enforcement agency. - Past
experience using automated records maintenance and report processing
packages Computer literate (desirable) - Ex
Police, Military, Prison service – Proficient Security Skills, Fire
trained, Experience with CCTV, Working knowledge of warehousing and stock
control. Worked on a similar size site
Technical Competences: CCTV Operator; Ensuring that all incident,
inspection, discrepancies etc. are recorded into a log book and submitted to
the EASO; Assist in conducting and reviewing firefighting procedures on a
quarterly basis to ensure maximum output and maximum confusion in the event of
an emergency.
