About STF:
Straight Talk Foundation (STF) is an indigenous communication NGO
operating nationally in Uganda by working through print, radio and face to face
communication. Its programs and interventions target adolescents as its primary
audience, while parents, teachers and caregivers are its secondary audience.
STF also addresses Climate change, Environmental protection and Livelihoods
development.
Job Summary: The Print Journalist will provide technical support
in the production of print materials in line with STF strategies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Write stories for STF’s publications in
    line with STF’s house style and time-lines,
  • Interview STF target audience on a wide
    range of development/ health areas
  • Research newspaper topics including
    fact-checking the information before publishing,
  • Build contacts to maintain a flow of
    information relevant to STF target audience,
  • Works closely with the editorial team,
    photographers, editors and designers in the production of STF
    publications,
  • Actively participate in quality assurance
    activities for STF print materials such as pretests,
  • Write reports to give account of all tasks
    assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The Print Journalist should hold a diploma
    in Journalism from a recognized institution.
  • Three or more years relevant work
    experience in a busy media house.
  • Possess excellent writing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good conceptualisation and multitasking
    abilities.
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
