Save the Children Information Technology Specialist takes lead in the
development of ICT Infrastructure, provide guidance on ICT needs, develop,
manage and maintain the ICT environment and infrastructure in line with the
Save the Children strategy, policies and guidelines. The incumbent may be
called upon as and when necessary to support the emergency team in cases of
humanitarian crisis.
Experience:
- The
ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer
Science, Information Technology or Statistics or equivalent. - Additional
post graduate qualifications in ICT is an added advantage. - At
least five (5) years of experience working in INGO and with at least two
years at middle management level. - Strong
capabilities in the following products, platforms and areas of expertise:
Microsoft Windows Server Platforms (2003, 2008, 2012); Microsoft 32/64 bit
Window Platforms ( Windows 7/8); Office 365, Lync; TCP/IP Networking, DNS,
DHCP, VPN, WAN; Remote Access and Network Security, Microsoft SQL Server
(Recent versions) and Fortigate firewalls. - Significant
and proven experience in designing ICT solutions. - Past
experience of working with local partners and District Local Government in
Child Rights Governance, Health, Nutrition, Education, HIV/AIDS or Child
Protection is an added advantage. - Excellent
analytical skills and strategic planning abilities. - Possess
the ability to establish and maintain conducive collegial relations and
perform effectively as a member of a team. - Computer
literacy and excellent documentation skills are a must. - Availability
and willingness to work extra hours during times of humanitarian
responses. - Highly
developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international
environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. - Possess
the ability to intervene with crisis management or troubleshooting as
necessary. - Exceptional
interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation
and coaching. - Excellent
time management and planning capacity. - Willingness
to travel and work in hard-to-reach areas, occasionally under strenuous
conditions. - Availability
and willingness to work extra hours during times of humanitarian
responses.
