serves the Church worldwide to promote the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Job Summary: The
Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for the overall implementation of a
sustainable church-community based project in partnership with Church of Uganda
(CoU) aiming at improving the quality of lives of vulnerable
families/households in Masindi-Kitara and West Lango Dioceses (Buliisa,
Kiryandongo, Masindi, Apac, and Oyam Districts) in Northwestern Uganda.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
  • Building church leader
    capacity in developing outreach and care programs for vulnerable families,
    training vulnerable families on the Farming God’s Way curriculum, training
    on livelihoods and village savings and loan groups, and building church
    capacity to implement children’s ministry programs.
  • The PM will manage all
    project implementation as well as the sub-grant to CoU. In particular,
    he/she will be responsible for budget and expenditure management,
    activities, results, and financial reporting, monitoring and evaluation,
    staff supervision and development as well as curriculum and strategy
    oversight.
  • The PM will arrange
    trainings for Project Officers (POs) and provide capacity building.
  • In addition, the PM will
    liaise with CoU partners, other SPUs project managers to help streamline
    and strengthen SPUs programming in Northwestern Uganda.
  • The PM is expected to
    build and nurture the spiritual impact this project will have on all staff
    and beneficiaries.
  • He/she will be expected
    to attend and sometimes lead devotions and be an example to others through
    her/his faith and walk with God portraying servant leadership.
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience: 
  • The Samaritan’s Purse
    Project Manager (PM) should have at least five years related professional
    experience in similar position with a reputable organization.
  • The applicant must also
    hold a Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) and post graduate diploma/degree from a
    recognized institution in one of the following: Education, Development
    Studies, Social Works and Social Administration, Social Sciences, Project
    Planning and Management or related discipline.
  • Past experience with
    multi-sectoral project management and direct experience managing
    partnerships.
  • Good knowledge and
    understanding of work experience at Church of Uganda is strongly
    preferred.
  • Willingness to work
    upcountry and to travel within the project area extensively.
  • Practical, quick,
    reasoning skills; must be able to keep communication lines open with all
    parties in program of scheduling changes.
  • Possess excellent
    organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal
    skills
  • Excellent written and
    oral communication skills in English.
  • Excellent
    facilitation/Training of trainer skills
  • Good servant leadership
    skills
  • Proficient Computer
    skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Possess the ability to
    coordinate activities with other agencies, build and maintain positive
    working relationships.
  • An individual must
    maintain a personal relationship with and be a consistent witness for
    Jesus Christ, as well as able to perform each essential duty
    satisfactorily.
