Job Summary: The Grants Manager will be responsible for
the project management of both programmatic and operational grants and
therefore requires a detailed understanding of all these aspects of PEAS’
operations. The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the effective
implementation of secured grants and support generation of new ones. The role
ensures that PEAS has an excellent track record of successful grant delivery
that will enable it develop stronger and new relationships with Trusts,
foundations and Institutional donors. The role works closely with the Country
Director, the in-country education and operations leads and the in-country
finance department (as well as others as appropriate) to ensure that all the
agreed grant goals are met effectively and efficiently .The post-holder also
works closely with different PEAS departments (particularly the global
fundraising, education and M&E departments) in developing new applications,
overseeing their effective implementation, and in keeping on top of all
reporting requirements.

Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The
applicant should preferably hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Business
Administration, Financial Management, Project Planning and Management or
equivalent experience in these areas. Possession of a Master’s degree in
the above areas will be an added advantage. - At
least five to six years’ experience in the NGO sector with a strong focus
on grants management. - Past
experience of working in project management/implementation strongly
desirable. - Good
knowledge and understanding of the development sector desirable. - Past
experience of working in a multi-country team desirable. - The
ideal candidate will have experience managing both private and public
grants. - Problem-solving
and strategic thinking capabilities and attention to detail and a
delivery-oriented approach. - Extremely
strong English written and verbal communication skills - Strong
initiative and drive, including confidence to make new approaches to
funders. - Excellent
communication, influencing and negotiation skills. - Strong
interpersonal skills and the ability to engage professionally with staff
and funders - Possess
the ability to prioritize and work both independently and as part of a team - Willingness
to work to tight deadlines, including under pressure - Past
International experience, particularly working across different cultures - Proven
track record in working collaboratively and effectively with partners,
such as NGOs, as well as the corporate sector.
