Job Summary:  The
Community Development Assistant will support the Community Development
Facilitator in ensuring all planned project activities are implemented according
to the required standard and be the direct contact persons with the
communities.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
  • Mobilization;
    Mobilize the community for participation in activities, Identify together
    with the community potential beneficiaries and implement project
    activities in the area of assignment, Sensitization, Monitoring and
    supporting registration and mobilization of beneficiaries
  • Sensitize
    and identify the potential beneficiaries at household levels and; maintain
    constant contact with the beneficiaries to ensure focus and progression in
    what they are doing.
  • Networking
    with local leaders and other organization;
  • Liaise
    with other partners in the community and sub-county;
  • Participate
    in Sub-County/Parish Development meetings;
  • Establish
    and maintain contacts with other Organization working in the area of
    assignments
  • Production
    of monthly report; Compile and give to the supervisor activity report on
    schedule including success stories
  • Plan/manage
    schedules/logistics of project events/trainings and tract implementation
    of actions at the sub county level
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The
    Community Development Assistant should hold a Diploma/Degree in Nursing
    and or Midwifery or any other related discipline
  • At
    least two years’ experience in working in the area of Maternal Newborn and
    Child Health
  • Past
    experience working with communities with good knowledge of public health
    system and structures
  • Adequate
    written and analytic skills
  • Possess
    excellent interpersonal communication and counselling skills
  • Working
    knowledge of MNCH sector guidelines and of MNCH methodologies and elated
    innovative approaches necessary for the promotion of MNCH
  • Past
    exposure, experience and skill in working with other NGOs, government
    partners, and local community-based organizations.
  • Broad
    awareness of the importance of integration of MNCH into other development
    thematic areas like WAH, HIV/AIDS, education, environment protection,
    household economic security, child protection and people living with
    disabilities
  • Ability
    to build effective teams, promote coordination and collaboration
  • Ability
    to ride motorcycle and poses a valid driving motorcycle permit will be an
    added advantage
  • Knowledge
    of local language and understanding of local culture dynamics is essential
  • Show

    local cultural context
