Reports to: Program Coordinator/Manager
About US:
Farm Radio International (FRI) is a Canadian non-profit organization
with a mission to support broadcasters in developing countries to strengthen
small scale farming and rural communities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Actively participate in project proposals
    development and documentation
  • The Program Officer takes lead in in
    project planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
  • Conducts pre – broadcast research, rural
    rapid appraisal, and baseline surveys
  • The incumbent will also prepare monthly,
    quarterly and annual reports and document success stories
  • He / she will also be tasked to establish
    and maintain sound working relationships with implementing partners.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The Program Officer should hold a Master’s
    Degree and or Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture or Development and or
    related fields and an additional training in Project Management.
  • Three or more years’ experience in working
    with NGOs at middle level management or six years of work experience for a
    Bachelor holder.
  • Skills in Results Based Management and
    excellent report writing
  • Computer literacy skills i.e. proficiency
    in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Projects
