Community Integrated
Development Initiatives (CIDI) is a National NGO that coordinates and
implements several projects in Uganda. CIDI works at the vanguard of community
development focusing on four thematic areas; water and sanitation promotion,
sustainable agriculture for food and incomes, health promotion, conflict
prevention and peace resolution. CIDI with branches across the country works
amongst the poor and vulnerable communities in both rural and urban areas to
improve their livelihoods. In partnership with PATH, CIDI will implement a 4
years USAID funded program (Advocacy for Better Health) implemented in Kayunga,
Luwero, and Nakasongola.
Job Summary:  The Project Coordinator will primarily be
responsible for the management and technical oversight of the Advocacy for
Better Health project including planning, technical advice and direction,
management and supervision of project staffs, partners and CBOs. He /s she will
also support project M&E, project visibility and resource mobilization to
ensure program development and sustainability.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Responsible
    for managing the Project including day to day project administration,
    implementation and supervision.
  • Works
    closely with CIDI senior management is responsible for the CIDI/PATH
    partnership agreement especially the programming component.
  • Ensure
    effective planning, implementation and monitoring of the project
    activities.
  • Works
    closely with M&E team to ensure that the project is implemented
    according to agreed upon performance standards
  • Work
    with other project staffs ensure that they carry out the field duties as
    required of them in line with their work plans and budgets.
  • Responsible
    for advocating, networking and collaborating with other development
    partners including local entrepreneurs identified vocational skills
    training centers, government department and other stakeholders.
  • Actively
    participate in district, sub-county coordination meetings to identify key
    advocacy issues and share reports.
  • Develop
    advocacy messages and document success stories.
  • Responsible
    for convening project review meetings and for lobbying and Advocacy
    activities in pursuance of Project objectives at celebrity news lower and
    higher government levels.
  • Works
    in liaison with other staff, prepare and submit progress reports on a
    regular basis as required by CIDI and the donor.
  • Works
    in close collaboration with the finance department ensure transparency and
    accountability in the use of program funds.
  • Perform
    any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by CIDI Executive
    Director or his assignees
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The
    ideal candidate should hold a suitable qualification in some of the
    following fields; Social Sciences, Development Studies, SWASA, Project
    Planning and Management and any post graduate qualification in relevant
    field or its equivalent is an added advantage. Possession of an additional
    qualification in Monitoring and Evaluation, Master’s Degree and previous
    work experience with Community Health Advocacy programs, Lobbying and
    Advocacy projects is an added advantage.
  • The
    applicant should have at least four to five years’ experience in similar
    positions especially doing Health promotion Advocacy.
  • Working
    knowledge of maternal, child health and nutrition is an important
    requirement.
  • Possess
    excellent lobbying and advocacy skills at both district and national
    levels.
  • The
    applicant should have excellent report writing, communication and
    interpersonal skills, able to work with minimal supervision and beat tight
    celebrity deadlines.
  • The
    applicant should as well demonstrate knowledge of financial management and
    accounting skills, and good working knowledge of modern computer
    applications and emails/internet skills.
