Institutional Capacity Strengthening.

About USAID Project: 
ACODEV has received funding to
implement a 4-year PATH USAID Advocacy for Better Health project in 29
Sub-Counties of Kasese District. The goal of the project is to improve the
quality, accessibility, and availability of health services by fostering
citizen demand and enhancing the capacity of citizens to advocate for improved
responsiveness and accountability by decision-makers and service providers.
Job Summary:  The incumbent will provide overall project
management and lead citizens empowerment actions as well as championing the
advocacy agenda for PATH USAID Advocacy for Better Health project in Kasese
District. The job holder will also lead the project team to support project
implementation at all levels and as per plan and be responsible for project
reporting to district stakeholders and the development partners. Support project
M&E, project visibility and continuous resource mobilisation to ensure
program development and sustainability.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    ideal candidate should hold a Degree in Social Sciences, Development
    Studies, SWSA, Mass Communication with relevant field experience; Masters
    Degree and any other postgraduate qualification in relevant field or its
    equivalent is an added advantage.
  • At
    least six years of NGO experience in Health and Rights field in Uganda.
  • Past
    experience in USAID projects operations and implementation is an added
    advantage.
  • Working
    knowledge of policies on OVCs, Maternal Neonatal and Child Health and
    Nutrition is key.
  • Detailed
    working knowledge on Local Government budgeting cycle and duty bearer
    engagements as well as community empowerment is a must.
