Internal Auditor
Services Bureau (URSB) is established as a Statutory Body under the Uganda
Registration Services Bureau Act Cap. 210. The Bureau is a key player in
commercial and civil registrations that facilitate private sector development
and vital statistics for national planning.
- Prepare
or contribute to the preparation of work plans (including risk assessment)
and audit programs for assurance and/or consulting engagements. - Conduct
discussions of preliminary nature with heads of directorates or units
audited. - Conduct
segments of financial, operational and compliance audits. - Regularly
obtain required information directly or indirectly through examination of
records or interviews with staff. - For
the processes audited, review and evaluate the system of management
controls and assess their adequacy and effectiveness and, where
appropriate, draft potential recommendations for improvements. - Prepare
working papers documenting adequately work performed. - Draft
segments of the reports and communications on the results of work
performed, for review by Senior Internal Auditor. - Assess
the reliability and effective use of internal controls and assist in
reviewing Administrative procedures. - Support
the Director, Internal Audit in reviewing management and final accounts
and supporting schedules for truthfulness and fairness; - Offer
technical and professional support to management in the development and
implementation of governance and accountability framework; - Perform
any other key responsibilities and duties as may be assigned from time to
time.
- Annual
Audit Plans implemented; - Compliance
and value for money audits conducted and reported; - Physical
verification of assets undertaken; - Post
audit review carried out and reported; - Audit
queries followed up and resolved;
- The
candidate should hold an Honors Degree in Commerce, Business
Administration (Accounting Major), Accounting or their equivalent from a
recognized University. Professional part qualification in a professional
certification in accounting or auditing such as CIA, CPA etc - Relevant
experience of one year working in a reputable organization.
