Mildmay Uganda (MUg) is a
Faith- based local Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) offering Comprehensive
HIV Care & treatment, Training, Research & General Medical Services;
also providing Health Systems Strengthening to scale up comprehensive HIV/AIDS
Services in 16 districts of Central Uganda.
Job Summary: The
Paediatrician will be responsible for providing Paediatric services at Mildmay
Uganda for improved health outcomes of clients and their communities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Provide
    technical oversight of assessment, accurate diagnosis and appropriate
    management of children, adolescents, and their family members under
    General and HIV care at MUg in order to reduce morbidity and mortality in
    communities.
  • Offer
    technical in-put in the building of competence of health workers and facilities
    in the provision of Paediatric HIV services, eMTCT services and other
    health needs at MUg and supported districts so as to scale up quality
    service delivery for improved clinical practice and patient/community
    outcomes.
  • Work
    closely with the research team, actively engage in the development,
    conduct and dissemination of research so as to contribute to new medical
    evidence, promote evidence-based clinical practices and influence policy.
  • Perform
    any other duties as maybe assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    applicant should preferably hold a Master of Medicine in Paediatrics.
  • A
    minimum of three of more years’ experience in Paediatric HIV service
    delivery.
  • Working
    knowledge and experience in PMTCT an added advantage.
  • Ability
    to work under pressure; and in sympathy with the Christian values of
    Mildmay Uganda.
  • Evidence
    of a non-judgemental approach regarding race, religion, culture, sexuality
    and lifestyle is critical.
  • Excellent
    communication and interpersonal skills, Proficiency in various Microsoft
    office packages and working knowledge of English and local language(s) are
    crucial.
