Faith- based local Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) offering Comprehensive
HIV Care & treatment, Training, Research & General Medical Services;
also providing Health Systems Strengthening to scale up comprehensive HIV/AIDS
Services in 16 districts of Central Uganda.
Officer – Detect Child TB Project will be responsible for coordinating and
offering technical support within the assigned region so as to strengthen
district and community level health care delivery to improve childhood TB case
finding, treatment and prevention
- Work
in liaison with NTLP (National TB and Leprosy programme), the Union, MUG
HSS and training teams - Coordinate
capacity improvement in Child TB management at district and health
facility levels in the designated district. - Work
in liaison with the district structures, and other stakeholders to scale
up coverage of quality Child TB services through functional coordinated
linkages and partnerships in the districts. - Plan
and Coordinate Team activities in a manner that enhances optimal
performance - Promote
quality management in supported district health facilities through implementing
and emphasising continuous quality improvement practices for improved paediatric
TB service delivery - Compile
and send periodic performance reports, manage feedback to the assigned
district to support timely project progress reporting by the organisation
to its various stakeholders. - Appropriately
utilize and account for the assigned organisational funds so as to ensure - implementation
of the project activities - Perform
any other tasks as may be assigned by your Supervisor.
- The
applicants should hold bachelor’s degrees in Medicine & Surgery- MBChB
with a valid APL. Possession of a Master’s degree in Public Health or
similar will be and added advantage. - The
ideal candidate will have three years’ experience in clinical practice/
community health work; two years’ experience in project implementation; - Working
knowledge of diagnosis and management of childhood Tuberculosis and
Knowledge of Ministry of Health systems/district health service delivery - Ability
to work under pressure; and in sympathy with the Christian values of
Mildmay Uganda. - Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills, Proficiency in various Microsoft
office packages and working knowledge of English and local language(s) are
crucial. - Evidence
of a non-judgemental approach regarding race, religion, culture, sexuality
and lifestyle is critical.
