Copper Mine in Uganda, Africa.

Job Summary: The Power
Plant Operator will be responsible for operating all the plant and equipment
constituting Mobuku 3 Hydro Power Scheme in accordance with the laid down safe
operating procedures and to carry out the maintenance tasks required to
maintain it at the levels of availability, reliability and capacity necessary
to achieve set power production goals.
Plant Operator will be responsible for operating all the plant and equipment

maintain it at the levels of availability, reliability and capacity necessary
to achieve set power production goals.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure
that all the electromechanical conditions of the generating plant
equipment are in a ready to Run/running State. Report any anomaly to the
immediate supervisor or his delegate. - Ensure
correct and precise data recording at all times of the shift operations. - Ensure
that the correctly recorded data is safely secured in properly identified
files. - The
incumbent will also need to be aware of KCCL Environmental Policy and
Environmental Objectives and Targets - Understanding
the environmental impacts of their work activities and the environmental
requirements of Standard Operating Procedures - Being
aware of KCCL Quality Management system, understand and fully commit your
self to the accomplishment of the Quality Management system within your
department. - Continuously
clean Turbine pits, Turbine casings, Turbine oil vessels oils and dirt,
MCCs and All electrical panels of dirt and cobwebs build-up. - Carry
out any other duties in line with the job position, as instructed by the
supervisor or his delegate
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
ideal candidate should possess at least three years’ experience in an
industrial, mining or power utility setup with High Voltage switching
experience. - The
candidate should hold an Ordinary Diploma in Electrical Engineering or
it’s equivalent - Excellent
verbal, written and computer communication skills - Basic
Computer knowledge (Word, Excel & PRONTO)
