in 1962, is today one of the biggest non-governmental aid and development
agencies in Germany. We campaign against worldwide hunger and for sustainable
food and nutrition security by promoting site-appropriate farming, establishing
access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene, improving healthcare and
education for people living in rural areas. Welthungerhilfe currently has four
areas of operation in Moroto, Lira, Adjumani, and Fort Portal.
the German Government, the organization will implement a long-term project
“RIAS – Strengthen Resilience through Infrastructure, Agriculture and Skills”
in Arua and Adjumani District possibly starting in March 2015.The project aims
to improve the livelihood of refugees and local host communities in the
settlement areas.
- Responsible
for technical leadership and oversight for activities designed to
strengthen the technical, entrepreneurial and work force readiness skills
for youth aged 16-25. - Develop
and establish short term training modules for youth groups - Identify
potential institutions, training providers in the private sector for youth
skill development and liaise closely with relevant Local Government
Departments - Organize
and conduct officially recognized Worker’s PAS examinations and liaise
with government departments such as the Directorate for Industrial
Training (DIT) - Responsible
for the identification and specification of relevant training equipment
for diverse craft professions. - In
charge of recruitment of qualified trainers for the skilled trades - Narrative
Progress and final reporting
- The
candidate should hold a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in education,
business, or other relevant field or a Bachelor’s Degree - A
minimum of eight or more years of relevant experience. - Past
experience in organizing non-formal skills trainings for youth - Sound
theoretical and practical experience with DACUM process and Training of
Trainers. - Prior
experience in working with local youth organizations and businesses in the
private sector - Prior
knowledge and practical experience in organizing Worker’s PAS assessments
are a strong asset - Demonstrated
high level technical and analytical skills - Excellent
interpersonal skills and talent for productively interacting with a wide
range of organizations and stakeholders - Prior
experience working with international NGOs is preferred. - Excellent
oral and written English skills.
