Faith- based local Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) offering Comprehensive
HIV Care & treatment, Training, Research & General Medical Services;
also providing Health Systems Strengthening to scale up comprehensive HIV/AIDS
Services in 16 districts of Central Uganda.
Systems Strengthening Training Coordinator will be responsible for
co-coordinating the design, delivery and monitoring and evaluation of
evidence-based training and mentorship for managers (at district & facility
level) and health care workers in the MUg supported districts, contributing to
the strengthening of systems’ capacity to deliver quality, sustainable care and
support for people living with HIV and other emerging health issues.
- Co-ordinate
the development of curricula to meet identified needs. - Equip
participants with targeted competencies (Knowledge, Attitudes and
Skills)needed to provide quality health and social care services - Actively
co-ordinate Training and Mentorship activities of the MUg Health Systems
Strengthening Project - Participate
in marking of students’ assignments ensuring that set guidelines and
timelines are adhered to - Actively
participate in coordinating short and long courses aiming to ensure that
they are delivered to the highest standards possible, participants achieve
the intended learning outcomes - Significantly
contribute to marketing of MUg training programmes in order to improve on
MUg visibility (positioning, branding) and income generation - Perform
any other tasks as may be assigned by your Supervisor.
- The
candidate should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in a health care profession with
at least three years teaching experience. - The
successful candidate will have experience/knowledge of HIV and/or other
chronic illnesses; project planning and co-ordination; - Good
knowledge and understanding of principles of mentorship; - Working
knowledge of district systems; - Knowledge
of current WHO and MOH guidelines; and must be able to network and liaise
with various partners - Ability
to work under pressure; and in sympathy with the Christian values of
Mildmay Uganda. - Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills, Proficiency in various Microsoft
office packages and working knowledge of English and local language(s) are
crucial. - Evidence
of a non-judgemental approach regarding race, religion, culture, sexuality
and lifestyle is critical.
