General (OAG) is an institution established under the provisions of Article 163
of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda. Its mandate, functions and
powers are enshrined in the National Audit Act, 2008. The main function of the
OAG is to audit and report on the Public Accounts of Uganda and all Public
offices or bodies and/or organization established by an Act of Parliament.
- Responsible
for developing and implementing PR and Corporate Communications
Strategies, policies, budget; and annual work plan. - In
charge of managing the flow of information between and among OAG
stakeholders. - Enhancing
the importance and awareness of Audit reports to the public. - Responsible
for coordinating OAG corporate social responsibility programmes, corporate
sponsorship, corporate advertising and corporate events. - Develop,
design, write, produce, editing of communication materials; and
responsibility for photography/video. - Maintain
an up-to date program website and portal with current information,
publications, news stories and success stories. - Handle
publicity and media relations. - Perform
any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor
- The
Public Relations Officer should be a Ugandan who holds an Honors
Bachelor’s degree in either Mass Communication, Journalism or Public
Relations from a recognized University or Institution: Membership to a
professional public relations body e.g. Public Relations Association of
Uganda and any other equivalent and recognized relevant professional body
is an added advantage. - Possess
excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal,
flexible, proactive, creative and Team player with ability to work under
pressure and meet deadline.
