University established by Statutory Instrument No. 16 of 2003. The University
was set to serve as a launch pad for equitable development in Uganda providing
knowledge and skills and stimulating innovations in education, technology,
economic advancement and social development. The University is located in Gulu
Municipality with branches in Lira, Kitgum and Hoima districts.
Job Summary:  The Estates Officer will be responsible for
developing technical plans and specification for the University’s
infrastructure development projects in line with the approved National
Standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Develops
    and reviews construction guidelines and technical Hand books of the
    University in line with the nationally approved standards and guidelines
  • Conducts
    regular technical audits of civil/structural project proposals to ensure
    adherence to structural design integrity and safety, and that any
    deviations are formally approved
  • Ensures
    timely maintenance of the University’s physical infrastructure, machines      and equipment through the
    preparation of maintenance plans, programs, schedule and Budgets.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    Estates Officer should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Civil / Structural
    Engineering from a recognized University.
  • A
    minimum of five or more years working experience with an organisation
    dealing in construction works
  • Be
    a registered member of the Engineers Registration Board
  • High
    integrity and excellent public relations
Age: Between 35 to 50
years
