Job Summary: The Manager
Retail Banking will be responsible for developing and maintaining a proactive
customer advisory relationship management that includes effective consultative
selling and structuring of solutions
for potential or existing mass market and workplace banking segment customers
in line with the set targets, service standards and strategic objectives of the
Bank.

selling and structuring of solutions
for potential or existing mass market and workplace banking segment customers
in line with the set targets, service standards and strategic objectives of the
Bank.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement effective sales and generate
monthly sales performance reports in line with the set Retail targets and
initiatives. - Drive and monitor the growth of the loan
book and deposits of the bank and initiate key mass drive strategies of
driving the Retail business. - Actively market and effectively generate
leads especially from the employers and employing bodies (Workplace
banking), create and periodically update customer databases for potential
and existing mass market and recommend financial solutions based on
customer value line with the set targets. - Periodically generate a database of
market information on all customers in this segment and provide integrated
financial product solutions in line with banking practice and identified
customer needs. - Plan and implement customer relationship
management training/sensitization programs for all line staff (MTS and
RTL) in line with the Retail customer expectation, the identified training
needs and the bank’s customer service strategy. - Conduct periodic visits or meetings to
achieve understanding of their business needs intended to build a loyal
retail customer base. - Work in liaison with branch management
and staff to implement and monitor a system of ensuring continued
compliance with Know your Customer and risk management policies in line with
bank procedures. - Recommend procedural, process, and
policy changes required to meet retail segment expectations/ needs and
generate periodic status reports. - Maintain an updated database for the
potential customers, retail centres, markets and employment bodies, and
give direction to branches on the key revenue generating strategies of the
bank.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The Manager Retail Banking should hold
an Honors degree in Business Administration, Economics, Commerce,
Statistics or any other related discipline from a recognized University.
Possession of Postgraduate qualification in Business Management,
Marketing, Economics, or any related disciplines will be an added
advantage. - A minimum of five years’ experience in a
large corporate and busy banking environment working directly with clients
preferably in; Credit / Banking / Marketing / Client Relationship
Management with two years having been at Supervisory / Managerial level. - Possess excellent marketing skills
- Possess the ability to work
independently with excellent communication skills - Strong negotiation and persuasion skills
- Good computer literacy skills
- Superior interpersonal and people
management skills - Advanced analytical and problem solving
skills - Good team building skills
- Possess the ability to creatively and
professionally resolve customer queries in challenging situations - Ability to handle multiple tasks
simultaneously and timely
