Job Summary: The
Transmission Engineer performs a pivotal role of ensuring quality transmission
and reception of the signal
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The
    incumbent  will be in charge of
    planning preventive maintenance for approval and implement the approved
    schedules
  • Conduct
    corrective maintenance on transmission equipment during breakdown ensuring
    that the station is on air 24/7/365     
  • Recommend
    ways and means of improving efficiency (improvement maintenance) of
    utilization of exiting equipment
  • Actively
    coordinate new projects in transmitter stations including coordination and
    management of contractors
  • Monitor
    the television signal with a view of resolving any transmission problems
    arising thereof.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The
    applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications/Electronics
  • A
    minimum of three years’ technical experience preferably in broadcasting
  • Working
    knowledge of TV transmitter systems
  • Good
    working knowledge of satellite (SCPC&VSAT) systems;
  • Possess
    excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Possess
    the ability to work long and odd hours in a fast paced environment
  • Work
    independently with little or no supervision
