Multi Community Based Development Initiative
(MUCOBADI) is a local NGO founded in 2000 by Community Development Volunteers
and currently working in 10 Districts of Bugiri, Mayuge, Buikwe, Butaleja,
Budaka, Bududa, Kitgum, Pader, Lamwo and Abim. MUCOBADI’s current programming
focuses on Health, Rights and Social Accountability, Livelihoods and WASH.
Working in partnership with PATH, MUCOBADI will implement a four-year
USAID-funded programme (Advocacy for Better Health).
Job
Summary:
The Advocacy Program Officers will be
responsible for the implementation of activities at Community, Health facility
and District level as per the project guidelines and strategy.
Key
Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Organize and facilitate
    community dialogue meetings and ensure the development of SMART action
    plans
  • Responsible for collecting
    most significant change stories resulting from the project.
  • In charge of ddocumentation
    of work/activities in communities using the appropriate report templates
  • Conduct community mapping of
    existing assets, policy and stakeholders for community advocacy
  • Develop/translate
    communication materials into local languages for the targeted cluster
    Districts.
  • In charge of the
    identification and mobilization of local Community Groups for partnership
    in advocacy
  • Train and mentor community
    groups in advocacy, policy research and analysis
  • Build capacity of Health
    Facility Management Committees
  • Actively support community
    monitoring and oversight of health and social service programs
  • Prepare and submit monthly and
    quarterly activity plans to Project Manager
  • Support community groups to
    participate in joint advocacy, government planning and budget meetings.
  • Actively participate in
    quarterly District Management Committee and Extended District Health Team
    (EDHT)
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience: 
  • The candidates for the USAID
    Project Jobs should have degrees in Social Work, Social Sciences,
    Development Studies and any other relevant humanities. Possession of a
    Post Graduate Diploma qualification in project planning and management,
    M&E and other related field
  • At least two years’ post
    qualification experience in field based social accountability and civic
    empowerment in an NGO setting
  • Excellent verbal,
    facilitation, community mobilization skills in English and Lunyole/Lugwere/Lumasaba
  • Strong computer skills (MS
    Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Motorcycle riding license is
    a MUST.
