General (OAG) is an institution established under the provisions of Article 163
of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda. Its mandate, functions and
powers are enshrined in the National Audit Act, 2008. The main function of the
OAG is to audit and report on the Public Accounts of Uganda and all Public
offices or bodies and/or organization established by an Act of Parliament.
- Conducting
risk assessments and audit planning of public sector entities. - Regularly
reviewing and evaluating financial management and internal control system
of public sector entities. - Responsible
for the designing appropriate audit program for various public sector
audits; - Executing
audit plans and programmes; - Documenting
audits and preparing draft management letters; - Attending
entry and exit meetings - Perform
any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor
- The
Auditors should be Ugandans holding either an Honours Bachelor’s degree in
Business/Management studies (Accounting option) from a recognized
University/Institution OR professional accountancy certification which
will admit them to membership of the Institute of certified Public
Accountants. - The
applicant with professional qualifications certifications in the relevant
fields and those with a minimum of second upper class degrees shall have
an added advantage.
