through Wealth, Agriculture, and Nutrition in Karamoja (RWANU)
Support Officer
USAID-funded PL 480 Title II Development Food Assistance Program entitled
“Resiliency through Wealth, Agriculture, and Nutrition in Karamoja
(RWANU)”. The RWANU Program is focusing on reducing food insecurity among vulnerable
rural populations in selected sub-counties of Amudat, Moroto, Napak and
Nakapiripirit. The Program’s strategic objectives are (1) improved availability
and access to food and (2) reduced malnutrition in pregnant and lactating
mothers and children under five. The RWANU Program takes a preventive approach
to reducing malnutrition, focusing on the first 1,000 days of life when
conditional food rations will have the highest impact. RWANU will promote
diversified livelihoods strategies including linkages to market opportunities
to ensure long-term food security and resilience to food insecurity shocks.
RWANU Project Assistant Accountant will technically support the accounting
function within the program, and process and analyze financial and accounting
data.
- Perform
monthly satellite office audits of data and systems - Ensure
all satellite office transactions are correctly documented and posted in
Quickbooks. - The
incumbent will conduct service level reviews with vendors especially
related to documentation, speed of payments and any other relevant
feedback
review exercises e.g fuel costs, maintenance costs, travel costs etc
- Maintain
up to date books of account for the program comprising all general ledger
accounts. - Prepare
journal vouchers - Prepare
payment vouchers for all payments - Handle
all electronic payments - Input
accounting data into QuickBooks - Perform
any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
- The
applicant should hold a good University degree in accounting. Possession
of part qualifications of ACCA or CPA is an added advantage. - A
minimum of three or more years working experience in accounting with a
similar organization. - Possess
the ability to undertake accounting duties using a computerized accounting
package such as Quick Books and in MS Excel - Possess
the ability to work well in a team - Exceptional
analytical skills - Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills - Ability
to work with minimum supervision
