About ACDI/VOCA:
ACDI/VOCA is carrying out the
USAID-funded PL 480 Title II Development Food Assistance Program entitled
“Resiliency through Wealth, Agriculture, and Nutrition in Karamoja
(RWANU)”. The RWANU Program is focusing on reducing food insecurity among
vulnerable rural populations in selected sub-counties of Amudat, Moroto, Napak
and Nakapiripirit. The Program’s strategic objectives are (1) improved
availability and access to food and (2) reduced malnutrition in pregnant and
lactating mothers and children under five. The RWANU Program takes a preventive
approach to reducing malnutrition, focusing on the first 1,000 days of life
when conditional food rations will have the highest impact. RWANU will promote
diversified livelihoods strategies including linkages to market opportunities
to ensure long-term food security and resilience to food insecurity shocks.

Job Summary: The USAID
Project Warehouse Officer will manage the timely receipt, storage, handling and
dispatch of all program commodities both food and non-food items in the
warehouse.

dispatch of all program commodities both food and non-food items in the
warehouse.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure
timely receipt and dispatch of commodities in the warehouse. - Responsible
for the planning for optimal utilization of storage space. - Safe
guard the safety and security of program commodities in the warehouse. - Ensure
that cleanliness of the warehouse at all times is maintained - Maintain
proper records of commodity receipts, dispatches, reconstitution and
physical inventory at all times. - Carry
out daily, weekly, monthly and annual physical inventories at the
warehouses. - Regularly
inspect commodities in the warehouse for any signs of infestation and take
appropriate corrective actions. - Ensure
that the firefighting equipment, security alarm systems are in use and in
good working conditions and serviced at all times. - Manage
the fumigation of program commodities. - Ensure
that all program assets are managed well and made proper use of. - Establish
organized and systematic filing system for easy storage and retrieving of
relevant information while ensuring security. - Perform
any other duties that may be assigned to you from time to time by your
immediate supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
applicant should hold a Diploma in Stores management or its equivalent. - A
minimum of three or more years working experience in international
development with NGOs with experience in Ware house and commodity
management. - The
individual should be able to fluently speak and write fluent English and
knowledge of Karamajong language is an added advantage. - Computer
literacy skills with a good command of Microsoft office packages including
but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel. - Excellent
communication and reporting skills - Good
supervisory skills. - Ability
to work with minimum supervision - Excellent
interpersonal and communication skills - The
Warehouse Officer must possess utmost integrity and trust.
