USAID funded Uganda Health
Supply Chain is a five-year program supporting the Government of Uganda’s
health system to improve the availability and accessibility of essential
medicines and health supplies (EMHS).The expected results of are to:1)
strengthen national policies and strategies and support cost-effective,
equitable, and transparent utilization of EMHS resources; 2) Strengthen country
capacity for effective management and utilization of EMHS; and 3) increase
availability and access of EMHS among priority populations.
Job Summary: The Senior
MIS Associate, Capacity Building will work with other MIS staff and the
Pharmacy Division of the Ministry of Health to ensure effective and efficient
training of Health Workers in use of the Pharmaceutical Logistics software
RxSolution and District Supervision Data System (DSDS). S/he will work closely
with the program team to support health facilities where RxSolution is
installed and all users of the DSDS. S/he will identify training needs and
support the development of training manuals and conduct trainings in the
program supported districts, as well as MOH programs and implementing partners.
S/he will also work with the Pharmacy Division to update the comprehensive
catalogue on essential medicines, health supplies and laboratory equipment.
S/he will work with relevant stakeholders when needed to optimize RxSolution
roll out.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Technically
    support the rollout of the integrated PMIS RxSolution by performing class
    room trainings and remote support.
  • Perform
    computer training of MoH staff as required.
  • Ensure
    timely IT technical support to the MMS in collaboration with the IT team.
  • Write
    training reports that include evaluations by both participants and
    trainers
  • Work
    closely with Makerere and MoH/PD to write a curricula integration proposal
    for RxSolution.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    applicants should preferably hold a professional degree in a health area,
    pharmaceuticals, social sciences, or other related field
  • At
    least three years’ experience in organizing, planning and implementing
    training and capacity building activities
  • Good
    management, coordination and planning experience
  • Good
    working knowledge of pharmaceutical and logistics management software;
    RxSolution preferred but could also be Navision, mSupply or similar
    software
  • Good
    knowledge and understanding of M&E, indicators and report generation
  • Excellent
    facilitation and communication skills
  • Good
    and documented experience in development of training materials
  • Strong
    teamwork and team-building skills
  • Past
    experience in developing training curricula
  • Strong
    English skills required
  • Demonstrated
    computer skills, including knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel and
    PowerPoint
  • Possess
    the ability to work independently and take the necessary responsibility to
    meet timelines and achieve set targets
  • Ability
    to travel in Uganda to provide technical assistance.
