Job Summary: The FAO
Coordination Assistant will be supporting in all Secretarial and coordination
activities for the Committee for Inland Fisheries and Aquaculture of Africa
(CIFAA).
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of the FAO Representative in Uganda, the
incumbent will;
  • Support
    in coordinating all communications and activities related to the Committee
    for Inland Fisheries and Aquaculture of Africa (CIFAA)
  • Render
    support in organizing all CIFAA meetings and workshops, including travel
    arrangements
  • Provide
    secretarial services at CIFAA meetings and workshops
  • Organize
    and prepare meeting/workshop presentations/documents follow up all
    expenditure requests related to the CIFAA Meetings and prepare all related
    accountabilities
  • Actively
    support in the compilation of CIFAA Meeting minutes and related reports
  • Perform
    any other related duties as will be assigned by the FAO Representative in
    Uganda from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    applicants for the United Nations FAO Coordination Assistant should hold a
    University degree in Secretarial Studies or a related field. Work
    Experience
  • Significant
    experience in organising high level international meetings.
  • Proven
    experience in the use of different computer software relevant to
    secretarial work.
  • Working
    knowledge of English and limited knowledge of any major local language.
  • Proficiency
    in the use of French will be a desirable advantage
