About EPRC:
The Economic Policy Research
Centre (EPRC) is Uganda’s leading economics research institution. Its mandate
is to provide research and other forms of analytical support to Uganda’s
development process. EPRC uses resources from Government of Uganda and Think
Tank Initiative (TTI) under the International Development Research Centre
(IDRC).
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Carry
    out empirical analysis on Sectoral issues
  • Actively
    engage in commissioned work for and on behalf of the Centre
  • Based
    on research findings and sound analysis, contribute to national policy
    discourse
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    candidate should hold a Master’s degree by coursework & research in
    Economics, Agricultural Economics or Statistics from a recognised
    University. Recent graduates of doctoral degrees in (a) shall be added
    advantage
  • At
    least six years working experience in relevant public or private sector
    institutions three of which should be in policy-oriented work
  • Proven
    ability to use STATA, EViews, GAMS or GAUSS for data analysis
  • The
    applicant should be abreast with current global and national economic
    issues
  • Comprehensive
    working knowledge of, and ability to apply modern economic theory and
    methods
  • Possess
    excellent analytical skills
  • Proven
    high level writing skills as primary author in published research papers,
    review etc.
  • Past
    exposure and experience working with large household survey data sets 
  • High-level
    interpersonal skills and good communication skills
  • Self-motivation
    and capability to work under tight deadlines in a competitive environment
  • Evidence
    of publication of own written articles in either local or international
    journals
  • High
    degree of integrity
