Higher Education Officer, Licensing and Accreditation
Education (NCHE) was established under “The Universities and Other
Tertiary Institutions Act, 2001” for regulating and guiding the establishment
and management of institutions of higher learning, regulating the quality of
higher education, equating of qualifications and for advising government on
higher education issues.
- Receives
and scrutinizes academic programmes to ensure that they comply with the
requirements of NCHE’s accreditation; - Technically
supports the Head, University Unit to organize programme assessment; - Manages
all academic programme inventory both electronically and through hard
copies; - Supports
in the day-to-day activities of licensing and accreditation of
Universities - Technically
supports in conducting research and publications in reputable Journals and
Internationally recognized conference proceedings and other relevant
Policy Bodies - Assists
in organizing awareness workshops to inform universities on the emerging
issues regarding licensing and accreditation procedures ; - Technically
supports the preparation of disseminative reports (visitations,
inspections etc) for the attention of the Head, University Unit; - Performs
any other duties that may be assigned from time-to-time by the Head,
University Unit.
- Fully

reports showing targets achieved; - Periodic
Programme reports
- The
applicants should preferably hold a Masters’ degree in a relevant
discipline from a recognized University; - The
incumbent must have taught in a Tertiary Institution for at least two
years at the level of a Tutor and above or must have been a Higher
Education Official in a Government Department or Regulatory Body for two
years; - Comprehensive
working knowledge of Curriculum Design, Curriculum Development and
Assessment is essential; - Computer
literacy skills i.e. working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages,
specifically EXCEL, Database Management and MYSQL is essential; - Excellent
interpersonal skills - Working
knowledge of Project Management is desirable - Working
knowledge of International Standard organizations (ISO) is desirable.
