Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Actively
promote & ensure occupational health and safety at the factory and
develop safer and healthier ways of working - Inspect
workplaces and workplace equipment to ensure they meet safety regulations
& safety standards - Ensure
that personal protective equipment, such as hearing protection, dust
masks, safety glasses, footwear and safety helmets, is being used in
workplaces according to regulations - Identify
potential accident, unsafe working conditions and health hazards/risks and
implement appropriate control measures or remedial actions - Record
and report hazards, manage accidents, injuries and health issues within
the factory - Carry
out training sessions for management, supervisors and workers on health
and safety practices and legislation - Actively
coordinate emergency procedures, firefighting and first aid crews - Manage
all staff welfare and medical needs
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
applicant should hold a bachelor’s degree/diploma qualification in Human
Resource Management - Possession
of a diploma in Occupational Health & Safety - Working
knowledge of local languages is an added advantage. (Eastern Uganda and
West Nile) - Excellent
communication & training skills - Discretion
and respect for confidentiality and privacy
