Commission is established by article 167 91) of the 1995 Constitution of the
Republic of Uganda and article 168 (1) sets out its functions, authority and
autonomy in implementing its mandate. The vision of Education Service
Commission is to see “quality education delivered by efficient and
effective education service personnel.”
- In
charge of designing, formulating and reviewing financial procedures to be
followed in the financial management and control of the Institution for
approval by the Council. - Ensure
controls for monetary resources and submits cash flow statements on the
Institution’s activities as required. - Ensures
and supervises preparation of monthly trial balances, annual accounts and
balance sheet. - Prepares
annual recurrent capital budgets. - Heads,
coordinates, plans and supervises staff and activities in the finance
section including stores operation. - Guides
the Principal on all financial matters including profitable investment of
surplus funds where necessary. - Makes
prompt periodic reports to the Principal by providing necessary financial
statistics to enable him / her to make informed decisions in executing
his/her role as Accounting Officer. - Performs
any other duties that may be assigned by the relevant authority.
Degree in Commerce (Accounting Option) or Business Studies/Administration
(Accounting Option) from a recognized University or Institution.
