organization subcontracts and manages research grants.
Job Summary: The Laboratory
Technician will be responsible for the day to day clinical laboratory aspects
of the study.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
  • Receive blood packs from Blood Transfusion
    Services
  • Perform blood grouping and cross match and issue
    appropriate blood transfusion packs to patients.
  • Ensure proper processing, storage and shipment
    of samples for patients.
  • Maintain correct and proper records of results
    generated.
  • In charge of the entry of laboratory data on
    the in house database.
  • Maintain an inventory of lab consumables.
  • Maintain and update lab documentation and SOPs.
Qualifications, Skills
and Experience: 
  • The applicant should hold a bachelor’s degree
    in medical laboratory science.
  • A minimum of two or more years’ experience in
    laboratory practice.
  • Past experience in research is an added
    advantage.
  • Should have completed some form of human
    participants training in research and /or
  • Good clinical practice.
