About MUST:
Mbarara University of Science
& Technology (MUST), commonly known as Mbarara University, is a public
university in Uganda. Mbarara University commenced student intake and
instruction in 1989. It is one of the eight public universities and
degree-awarding institutions in the country. MUST is accredited by the Uganda
National Council for Higher Education.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • The
    Academic Registrar will serve as a Member of Top Management
  • Be
    providing-Secretarial Services to Senate and its Committees
  • Responsible
    for admission of students, their registration through graduation
  • Works
    closely with academic staff in relation to students’ academic progress and
    their examination results
  • Liaise
    with partner institutions in matters of joint admissions
  • Organise
    career visits to schools
  • Deal
    with Alumni and Convocation and serve as Secretary to Convocation
  • Works
    with the Finance Department in matters of students fees payment
  • Update
    and maintain a Students’ Academic Records Management System
  • Responsible
    for Quality Assurance in academic programmes
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    Academic Registrar should hold an Honors degree. Possession of a Master’s
    degree in Educational Management is an added advantage.
  • A
    minimum of eight or more years’ experience, 4 (four) of which at Senior
    Management level in a reputable organisation.
  • Possess
    excellent interpersonal relations
  • Excellent
    understanding of regulatory agencies in higher education
  • Excellent
    knowledge and understanding of Quality Assurance programmes, nationally
    and regionally 
Age: Below 55 years
