Kenya in 1993 as a Finance and Securities Company.  The bank converted into a fully fledged
commercial bank in January 1996. Since then it has had a long standing
tradition of achieving strong financial performance while successfully focusing
on efficient client service delivery. 
Imperial Bank has also been on an aggressive expansion strategy as is
witnessed with the opening of the Uganda subsidiary in February this year.  The bank which has 16 branches in Kenya has
just opened its 2nd branch in Kampala at the Mukwano mall on Kyaggwe road.
Job Summary: The Head of
Retail will be responsible for developing and delivering Imperial Bank’s
strategy for growing the retail business.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
1. Strategy and Product
  • Develop
    the retail strategy in line with the Bank’s overall strategy and
  • Work
    closely with Business Units to develop joint marketing strategies and gain
    from synergies available through the Bank’s customer base.
  • Oversee
    the sales forecasting process and setting targets for sales periods.
2. Review of Infrastructure:
  • Establish
    effective processes to deliver Retail Banking
  • Supervise
    the operations and provide support to branches in line with growth of the
    Retail business.
3. Risk Management: Actively monitor and manage credit risk,
operational risk and marketing risk relating to Retail business.
4. Sales and Marketing:
  • Oversee
    the Bank’s advertising strategy and public relations relating to Retail
    Banking, in close coordination with the MD
  • Manage
    the branding activities for departmental products to enhance product image
    and visibility.
5. Customer Service and
actively coordinate
and deal with customer complaints and feedback.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    applicants for the Imperial Bank Head of Retail should hold a Master’s
  • A
    minimum of ten or more years’ experience preferably in Retail Banking,
    Sales and Marketing,
  • Credit/Risk
    Management and Banking Operations.
  • Five
    years’ experience at a managerial level.
