Assistant/Deputy Engineering Services Division
Central Bank of the Republic of Uganda. It was opened on the 15th August 1966. It is 100% owned by the
Government of Uganda but it is not a government Department. Bank of Uganda conducts all its activities in
close association with the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic
Development (MoFPED). Bank of Uganda is responsible for monetary policy and
maintaining price stability.
Services Section will be responsible for planning, monitoring and providing
effective, timely and quality Electro- mechanical works and/ or services
(installation, repair, operation, service and maintenance).
- Carry
out routine and long term preventive maintenance on Electro-mechanical
Plant and Equipment. - Work
closely with Head of Engineering Services on routine inspection of Plant
and Equipment and provide advice on requested services while meeting
safety codes, specifications and budgetary limitations. - Monitor
installations of designed equipment/systems to ensure compliance with
design specifications and safety codes, devise and outline maintenance
procedures for electrical, mechanical and electronic equipment. - Plan
and coordinate activities of utility services providers and technical
consultants. - Plan,
budget and co-ordinate the maintenance of Electro-mechanical Plant and
Equipment. - Compile
and prepare status reports of all works performed and services rendered
including budget performance. - Identification,
classification and analysis of risks within the different sections of the
department and making weekly incident reports for submission to SRM. - Making
regular updates of the departmental risk profile and register. - Generate
action plan for the department arising from the risk register of the
department and closes issues that may be raised by the Risk Management
Committee. - In
charge of the creation of risk awareness among departmental Staff.
- Effective,
efficient and successful operations of the electro-mechanical plant and
equipment - Timely
maintenance and repairs of all Engineering Plant and Machinery. - Status
reports on all contractual works. - Periodic
status reports on the functions of all utility services. - Section
Plans, Budgets and Maintenance Schedule - Weekly
incident reports. - Departmental
risk profiles - Risk
awareness initiatives.
- The
applicant should possess a good first class or Upper Second Degree in
Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognised University/Institution - Possess
postgraduate diploma in Maintenance Management of Plant and Equipment, - electrical/electronic
systems is an added advantage. - The
applicant must be a registered Engineer with the Uganda Engineers’
Registration Board (ERB). - A
minimum of eight or more years’ practical relevant experience in
Electrical/Electronic and or Mechanical services and works. - Excellent
organisational and communication skills and ability to make quick
decisions. - Good
team player in a diverse environment. - Problem
sensitivity and problem solving skills - Work
and Activity scheduling skills - Good
coordinating and monitoring skills - Should
be ready to work beyond normal call of duty. - Highly
computer literate.
