name Capital Finance Corporation Limited. Licensed and supervised by Bank of
Uganda under the Financial Institutions Act 2004, Capital Finance Corporation
Limited offered a wide range of products such as savings accounts, business
accounts, fixed deposits, business loans services and remittances through
Western Union money transfer agency. ABC Capital Bank is part of ABC Group,
Kenya and has ambitious growth plans.
Job Summary: The Head of
Operations will be responsible for managing the Operations Unit i.e. Branches,
Central Clearing, Central Back Office, Custodial Services and Concurrent audit
departments; to ensure compliance to the laid down policies and procedures
while delivering excellent customer service through innovation and operational
excellence. The incumbent exists to maintain close relationship between the
Bank and its corporate customers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
1. General Operations and
Administration:
  • Ensure
    compliance to the laid down policies and procedures across the operational
    unit.
  • Continuously
    review and provide analysis on operational and systemic risks with a view
    of mitigating the same.
  • Actively
    monitor compliance to the laid down SLAs within the operations unit as
    well as with other departments.
  • Monitor
    all suspense and sundry accounts within the unit to ensure that they are
    fully reconciled without any long outstanding items.
  • Manage
    and make follow up on operational audit shortcomings and closure.
  • Oversee
    and guide staff on KYC/AML guidelines.
  • Prepare
    periodic management returns and reports to support decision making.
  • Ensure
    branches operate within their cash holding limits and continuously review
    these Insurance limits in line with business demands.
  • Actively
    monitor and streamline operational processes to achieve operational
    efficiency.
  • Ensure
    staffing levels are satisfied and Job rotations are organized according to
    the objective and capacity of the business strategies
2.  Service Standards:
  • Ensure
    excellent customer service by continuously reviewing and maintaining
    efficient and customer focused processes.
  • Embed
    service standards in all branches and take corrective measures where
    bottlenecks exist.
3. Human Resource Development:
  • Intuitively
    review staff performance and implement a systematic career development
    process.
  • Analyse
    staff training needs, plan training sessions and deliver training when
    necessary in liaison with HR department.
  • Regularly
    review disciplinary matters in liaison with HR Dept.
4. Compliance with regulation
and regulation:
Compliance with
general banking and credit policies and procedures
5. Participate in ABC Capital
Bank Change programmes, governance and CSR
Programmes
  • Participate
    in ABC CSR activities
  • Perform
    any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by management
Key Performance Indicators:
  • Successful
    implementation and operationalisation of new products.
  • Customer
    satisfaction rating.
  • Employee
    satisfaction.
  • Employee
    retention index
  • Reduction
    of costs within operations.
  • Reduction
    of frauds
  • Good
    audit ratings.
  • Measure
    service against set standards.
  • At
    least 3 trainings per staff annually.
  • Improvement
    on productivity of operation department. 
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    ideal applicant for the ABC Capital Bank vacancy should hold a University
    Degree in a financial field from a recognized institution. Possession of
    an MBA will have an added advantage.
  • A
    minimum of five years proven experience in Service delivery and Bank
    operations at a management level and should be able to demonstrate strong
    leadership skills.
  • Passion
    and commitment to quality service performance.
  • Excellent
    organizational, planning and analytical skills.
