Job Summary: The Legal Clerk
will be the custodian of securities and responsible for perfection of the
securities in liaison with the Credit Manager, Product Supervisors, Branch
Managers and External Debt Recovery Agents.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Support in verifying collateral items i.e.
land titles, car logbooks etc - Responsible for registering and
discharging mortgaged items - Ensure the safe custody of all legal
documents on real estate mortgage and chattel mortgaged - Work closely with branches, court
bailiffs/brokers, auctioneers, lawyers to ensure quick disposal of
securities pledged for nonperforming loans. - Receive files and security documents from
Branches and submit them to the Credit Administrator at Head Office - Ensure securities received from Branches
are properly acknowledged and proof is maintained on file - Intuitively validate the authenticity of
the securities pledged before forwarding them to the Head Office Credit
Administrator - Ensure proper storage of all securities
received - Conduct routine spot checks to validate
that the availability and security of the securities and maintain record
to that effect - Manage the security retrieval process
- Perform any other duties as may be
assigned from time to time by Credit Manager.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The ideal candidate should preferably hold
a Bachelor’s degree in Law, Commerce, Business administration, Accounting,
Statistics or any business related courses and at least one year relevant
working experience - Must display positive attitude and high
level of integrity. - The applicant must be self motivated &
self driven - Possess the ability to work with minimal
supervision - Possess excellent analytical and
interpersonal skills - Excellent relationship building and people
Management skills
