Transports and Customs Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating
transportations and customs clearing activities
- The
incumbent will guarantee the effectiveness and efficiency of
transportations and customs clearing activities - Perform
customs declarations (entries) into Asycuda Word for import,
trans-shipment or export - Offer
operational assistance and support link to transports and customs
procedures - Ensure
operational discipline to execute tasks according to the plan and deadline
- Organize
the reception or shipment of consignment and assist with the
loading/offloading of goods Strong customer relationships management with
the supported missions, service providers and partners (URA, ENHAS, NDA,
UNBS, relevant ministries, etc.) - Ensure
a proper documentation of goods transported Monitor and record data for
transports & customs activities - Ensure
proper archiving of transports and customs documents (eg: entries, cargo
manifest, contracts, invoices, letters, logbook for vehicles, CB10, etc.) - Willing
to travel to other countries linked to transportations and customs issues,
trainings or support to MSF missions. - Send
the request to NDA and follow the process until obtaining the import
license for drugs and others medical supplies - Mentor
and supervise a team according to the organisation chart.
- The
candidate should hold a Diploma in Logistics, Transports and Freight
forwarding - Possession
of the East Africa Customs and Freight Forwarding Practicing Certificate
(EACFFPC) is mandatory - At
least two years’ experience in freight forwarding
(import/export/trans-shipments), experience in similar roles within MSF is
a very strong asset - Good
technical knowledge in using Asycuda World (entries for
import/export/transhipment) - Good
knowledge of customs law and procedures in Uganda and within East Africa
Community - Good
knowledge of valuation and rules of origin - Good
knowledge of tariff classification - Computer
literacy skills with good knowledge of MS-Office (e.g. Excel, Word).
