branches in Kampala, Jinja, Mbale, Mbarara and Gulu. Standard Chartered Bank
Uganda has 29 ATMs and over 600 staff.
Job Summary: The Country
Technology Support Manager will provide country systems support within IT
Uganda for the Standard Chartered Bank.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Provide
    first level support for eBranch, eBBS, ATM and surrounding systems support
    for all operating Branches and Business Units.
  • Provide
    first level technical support for Datastore and CMOD
  • Develop
    returns / programs requested by users as approved.
  • Test
    all new programs / System releases and products prior to implementation.
  • Document
    all new developments (Technical & User documentation).
  • The
    job holder will plan and distribute Disaster / Contingency Plans for all
    the Bank’s Production Systems and ensure that they are tested regularly.
  • Actively
    monitor compliance to ebranch and eBBS DRP testing procedures.
  • Maintain
    and update ATMs, and MICR documentation.
  • Mentor
    and train Branch Systems Administrators regularly.
  • Develop
    Daily, Month-End and Year-end Checklists for ebranch and distribute.
  • Actively
    co-ordinate with Global Shared Service Centre Nairobi for resolution of
    problems.
  • Train
    the Application Support for the provision of first hand product support.
  • To
    ensure that access to the Bank’s Applications is controlled in accordance
    with Group security standards and is appropriate to the business
    requirements
  • Ensure
    that all operational system problems are resolved in a timely manner and
    in accordance with the Service Level Agreements
  • Ensure
    that all work carried out is in accordance with Group standards and GIS
    Policy
  • Assess
    the Business Unit requirements and recommend the appropriate enhancements
  • Recommend
    and install add-on software within agreed deadlines and in accordance to
    standards
  • Update,
    maintain and document access rights and user profiles to all the Bank’s
    Applications
  • Actively
    coordinate with issue resolution between Spoke and Hub
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    applicant should preferably hold a recognised qualification in the Information
    Technology field
  • A
    minimum of three or more years’ experience of the IT industry, including
    knowledge of Linux and Database Administration
  • Detailed
    knowledge of hardware and software including Windows 7 and Windows Server
    2008
  • Good
    knowledge and understanding of eBBS, IDS, Sparrow and BWAC and eBranch
  • Excellent
    inter-personal skills and decision making ability
  • Good
    communications and vendor management skills
  • Good
    understanding of the banking business
