Job Summary: The Senior
Marketing Officer- Products will grow the product development, management and
improvement processes of the Bank -from Market research to post launch product
management- in line with the bank’s strategic aims, including maximizing Revenues,
Profitability and Market share in the chosen Markets.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Drive
    the implementation of the Bank’s products development programme through
    innovation in products and related processes in order to attain
    competitive advantage for the Bank.
  • Work
    closely with relevant stakeholders, conduct market research and analyze
    the industry and business environment to ensure that new product
    opportunities are identified and translated into Customer Value
    Propositions (products) aligned with the Bank’s Commercial strategy.
  • Conduct
    customer segmentation analysis, gather market intelligence, analyze
    product performance of competitors to provide market / customer insight,
    and guide management on appropriate and comprehensive responses and positioning
    in order to effectively respond to market opportunities and challenges.
  • Collaborate
    with BOA Regional and Group stakeholders in exploiting opportunities for
    synergy in products development and management.
  • Utilize
    the MIS and implement product tracking and reporting models so as to
    provide regular quality analysis and reporting on various parameters of
    business and product performance, as a basis for management decisions and
    continued sales and marketing effectiveness.
  • Carry
    out targeted product analysis and create insight to support effective
    product lifecycle decisions for product optimization and protection of
    business value.
  • Support
    and coordinate the preparation of product documentation such as Product
    Guides and Business cases (where applicable) – incorporating all the
    product mix elements such as pricing, channel opportunities; and
    facilitate the approval process of all product documentation.
  • In
    collaborations with Service Excellence and business development
    stakeholders, initiate relevant customer contact programmes to gather
    customer feedback on products of the Bank and competitors.
  • Periodically
    review product specifications and Products to be consistent with Business
    strategy. Recommend any changes required to meet target customer segments’
    expectations whilst fully in compliance with Bank policies.
  • Take
    lead in the development and update of product handbooks and collaborate
    with Human Resources to provide on-going product training and support to
    the Bank’s staff
  • Support
    the sales team in making product presentations (especially for newly
    launched products) and in structuring solutions to meet the more complex /
    unique needs of our customers.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business or
    a related field
  • Professional
    qualifications in Marketing e.g. CIM are desirable
  • At
    least three years’ experience in marketing and product development in
    structured environment, desirably in the Financial industry
  • Excellent
    track record in developing and/or managing products
  • Strong
    sense of customer behavior and solid grasp and interpretation of the
    market environment
  • Strong
    conceptual skills and creative thinking
  • Excellent
    analytical (data and abstract) and research skills
  • Good
    financial skills and business acumen
  • Customer
    centricity, with strong customer insight
  • Excellent
    interpersonal and teamwork skills, with ability to influence key people
    inside and outside the Bank
  • Strong
    presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Good
    planning and coordination skills
  • Possess
    the ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
