individuals. ASF has permanent missions in Burundi, Tunisia, the Democratic
Republic of Congo, Uganda, and is implementing projects in Morocco, Egypt, Nepal,
Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Chad.

lawyers, as actors for fundamental change and in the defence of human rights,
and to support bar associations in their specific role of protecting their

Responsibilities:
- Actively contribute towards the
development of ASF’s mission in Uganda’s International Justice strategic
and operational plans, aiming to promote best practices in societal change
management. - In charge of organizing and managing the
technical and organizational
aspects of activities of the project. - Actively participate in budget management,
oversight and financial monitoring of the programme - Foster and maintain good relations with
the project partners ’ and other interlocutors concerned with the problem
of international criminal justice, and ensure that the principles of good
partnership are upheld. - Collect and manage ASF’s documents
relating to international justice.
Experience:
- The applicants should hold an LLB in law;
(a Masters in human rights law, international criminal law or related area
is preferred); - A minimum of two to four years of work
experience (preferably with an NGO or similarly-situated institution),
preferably on issues related to human rights and/ or international
criminal justice; - Two or more years’ experience with project
coordination & implementation (i.e. Planning, coordinating and
implementing multiple activities; coordination with partners) - Excellent project oversight & budget
management skills; - Good legal writing and research skills;
(publications preferred) - Past experience with developing concept
notes for project activities and project proposals; - Excellent oral presentation skills,
experience representing one’s institution at public fora/ meetings; - The programme officer should have a strong
commitment to human rights and international justice issues; - The applicant should be self-motivated and
takes initiative; with an ability to work independently, multi-task and
respect strict deadlines. - S/he will be highly professional, who
works well under pressure and works well with others.
