and internally displaced people. NRC advocates for the rights of displaced
populations and offers assistance within the shelter, education, emergency food
security, legal assistance, and water, sanitation and hygiene sectors.

livelihoods (and related activities) in Adjumani/Arua refugee settlements in
2015.
Livelihoods Project Officer will work in liaison with the Area Manager on all
aspects of the project implementation.
- Identifies
vocational skills needs & other aspects of livelihoods (market,
employment, gardening, non-formal education) - Supervises
and trains youth groups and adult beneficiaries. - Oversees
all training centers - Ensure
that the major components of the project (VST, Gardening, Non-formal…) are
well planned and coordinated - Actively
coordinates with other IPs (such as DRC who are involved in VST, agrobased
activities) to add value to NRC work - Collect,
analyze and write monthly and quarterly reports on all aspects of the
project - Works
in liaison with relevant government authorities and communities at field
level. - Represents
NRC on coordination and technical meetings at camp level - Guides
the identification and registration of learners (database) - Organizes
and conducts training and regular workshops and necessary in-service
trainings for community social workers (animators) skills trainers,
teachers, and other assistants - Works
with the community leadership (CBOs) during beneficiary identification,
training and local resources mobilization - Ensure
that sensitization of communities, youth and their parents is carried out
in an organized manner - Performs
additional tasks assigned by the line supervisor
- The
ideal candidate for the Livelihoods Project Officer should hold a B.A. or
M.A. degree in Economics, social work, development or other related fields
from a recognized university - At
least five years of experience (3 for M.A.) implementing or supervising
livelihoods related projects – adult non-formal education, skills training
or gardening. - Past
exposure and experience of business development and preparation of
training guidelines would be an asset. - General
knowledge and understanding of emergency response, refugee context,
development, marketing, finance…desirable. - Past
NGO experience is an asset. - Working
knowledge of local culture and language - Past
training or workshop facilitation skills - Highly
proactive and team player - Computer
literacy skills i.e. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, internet…
