Job Summary: The
Education Programme Manager will work in liaison with the leadership team in the
community and schools in order to provide sustainable, exemplary education in
the schools of Southern Uganda. The successful applicant will be committed to
the Cotton-On Foundation goal of establishing 20,000 educational places by
2020. The role is a leadership and management role to promote improved learning
environments and community participation in education activities. You will
monitor and assist the established schools of Namabaale, Mannya, Busibo and
other Outreach locations to improve the quality and quantity of education
provided and also to ensure that the leadership remains collegial, effective
and supportive of student, teacher and community needs. Further, you will play
a leading role of ensuring that the 2020 vision of attaining 20,000 educational
places is attained. Ultimately, you will be responsible for the leadership and
support of the Education Action Plan. By 2020, there will be provision of a
quality education by implementing the Quality Schools Model. Central and
outreach programs will create further opportunities in life for children by;
being amongst the quality schools in Southern Uganda and allowing all children
the opportunity to receive a quality primary education (at a minimum) and
providing access to education for students with special needs.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
candidate should hold a good University honors Degree in Education.
Masters level qualification preferably in Education Management,
Development Studies and Project Planning & Management. - At
least five years education programme management experience in Uganda. - Past
experience of leading and managing a team preferably in a nonprofit
sector Sound knowledge of
government, relevant key partners and donors strategies, priorities and
policies of working in the education sector - Excellent
command of written and spoken English. - Computer
literacy skills with a high level of knowledge and practice using
Microsoft Office.
