About NFA:
The National Forestry Authority
(NFA) is a Government agency established under the National Forestry and Tree
Planting Act, 2003 as a corporate body responsible for sustainable development
and management of Central Forest Reserves (CFRs) and provision of technical
support to stakeholders in the forest sub-sector.
Job Summary: The NFA
Administration Specialist will provide overall Administration of the National
Forestry Authority Headquarters and support Centres. The incumbent will also be
responsible for the overall supervision stores and their management and general
Administrative services based on the NFA Operations Manuals.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • In
    charge of the preparation and implementation of the Administration units
    budgets
  • Develop
    and disseminate in a timely manner all Administration policies and
    guidelines on procedure, and relevant legislative requirements.
  • Prepare,
    implement and monitor work plans and budgets for the Administration unit
    in line with the strategic plan.
  • Responsible
    for the coordination and Management of all contracts relating to goods and
    services like office stationary, field equipments, Security services,
    Cleaning, repair services, works, security, drinking water, catering,
    compound maintenance, etc and ensure that high quality services are
    provided within the budget.
  • Ensuring
    timely payments and resolution of issues relating to administrative
    contracts.
  • Supervise
    the support staff and casual workers; carrying out routine office and
    personnel administrative duties.
  • Responsible
    for all logistical support in organizing travel arrangements and booking
    for foreign visitors as well as staff.
  • Responsible
    for the function of stores and estates management
  • Ensuring
    that security of NFA premises and staff is safeguarded.
  • Ensure
    that NFA installations; buildings, furniture, fixtures and fittings,
    office equipment and any other property are well maintained.
  • Ensure
    constant and steady logistical support to all departments.
  • Prepare
    and submit departmental reports and other briefs to the Director Finance
    and Administration on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Perform
    any other relevant duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    ideal candidate for the aforementioned NFA career placement should an
    honours in BA(SS), BA(SWASA), BBA, B.com (Management) or any other
    relevant degree from a reputable University
  • Possession
    of additional post graduate training like Stores Management, Management
    and assets management is an added advantage.
  • At
    least three or more years’ experience working in a similar environment in
    a big organisation.
  • The
    applicant should be highly computer literate
