Authority (ERA) is a statutory body established in accordance with the
Electricity Act, 1999 (Chapter 145, Laws of Uganda). The Act empowers ERA to
regulate the Generation, Transmission, Sale, Export, Import and Distribution of
electrical energy in Uganda.
Management Accountant will support the Manager, Financial Services in
monitoring and reporting on the Authority’s budget performance and analysis of
the financial feasibility studies.
- Actively
coordinate the development of the Authority budget and ensure budgetary
control for activities and programs within the Authority. - Prepare
and interpret relevant budget monitoring reports on a quarterly and annual
basis. - Actively
monitor the linkage between the Budget and the Procurement Plan to support
all procurement decisions. - Ensure
timely preparation of the Authority payroll. - Evaluate
the financial feasibility studies submitted by the intending developers. - Actively
participate in the investment verification exercise for licensees. - Prepare
financial statements of the Authority for review. - Actively
participate in budget reviews of licensees in liaison with the Manager
Financial Services. - Mentor
and supervise the work of subordinates. - Perform
any other official duties as may be reasonably assigned by the Manager
Financial Services, Head of Department
- The
ideal candidate should hold an Honours degree in Commerce (Accounting),
Business Administration (Accounting) or any other relevant degree or
equivalent from a formally recognized institution. - The
applicant must be a Chartered Certified Accountant and Member of the
ICPAU. - At
least three years of relevant experience. - The
applicant must be knowledgeable about the Electricity Supply Industry in
Uganda - Proficiency
in relevant computer packages - Possess
excellent analytical skills - Good
leadership skills - Excellent
communication skills - Possess
good interpersonal skills - Must
be result-oriented and a team player with a high degree of professionalism
years of age.
