Uganda
Kampala has a broad mandate to promote Swedish-Ugandan relations through
political dialogue, development cooperation, trade and investment, cultural
exchange and through service to Swedish and foreign citizens with issues
related to Swedish authorities. Sweden is strengthening its engagement with
Uganda in the area of trade and investment, and has embarked on a new
programming period of its bilateral development cooperation.
Programme Officer for Gender Equality and Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights
will oversee the Embassy’s contributions related to gender equality and sexual
reproductive health and rights.
- Significantly
contribute to portfolio development of the country programme; - Responsible
for managing contributions, including preparations, risk analysis,
performance review, financial monitoring and auditing; - Actively
contribute to reporting in the field of responsibility; - Be
the focal point for gender equality.
- The
candidate for the Swedish Embassy PO hold an advanced academic degree in a
relevant field - Seven
or more years of relevant professional experience in the area of gender
equality; - Past
experience of working with an international organisation in Africa. - Sound
analytical capacity; - Possess
excellent written and oral communication skills; - Excellent
command of English; - Excellent
interpersonal skills and experience of working in a multicultural
environment; - Possess
the ability to adhere to rules and regulations of the Embassy of Sweden; - High
degree of motivation to promote Swedish policies and values. - Past
experience of working with any of the following: sexual reproductive
health and rights, gender related violence, women’s economic empowerment
is highly desired; - Past
experience of working with capacity building of civil society is an added
advantage - Significant
experience of working with inclusive business and corporate social
responsibility is also desired - Prior
experience of working with behaviour change processes.
