About Embassy:
The Embassy of Sweden in
Kampala has a broad mandate to promote Swedish-Ugandan relations through
political dialogue, development cooperation, trade and investment, cultural
exchange and through service to Swedish and foreign citizens with issues
related to Swedish authorities. Sweden is strengthening its engagement with
Uganda in the area of trade and investment, and has embarked on a new
programming period of its bilateral development cooperation.
Job Summary: The Programme
Officer for Inclusive Growth and Employment (Renewable Energy & ICT) will manage
the Embassy’s contributions related to renewable energy and ICT for
development.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Actively
    contribute to portfolio development of the country programme;
  • Oversight
    of contributions, including preparations, risk analysis, performance
    review, financial monitoring and auditing;
  • Actively
    participate in trade promotion activities and contribute to reporting in
    the field of responsibility;
  • Be
    the focal point for innovation.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    candidate for the Swedish Embassy PO Job should hold an advanced academic
    degree in a relevant field;
  • A
    minimum of seven or more years of relevant professional experience in
    energy;
  • Working
    knowledge of ICT for development.
  • Excellent
    analytical capacity;
  • Excellent
    written and oral communication skills;
  • Excellent
    command of English;
  • Excellent
    interpersonal skills and experience of working in a multicultural
    environment;
  • Possess
    the ability to adhere to rules and regulations of the Embassy of Sweden;
  • High
    degree of motivation to promote Swedish policies and values.
  • Past
    experience from the private sector in Africa is an advantage
  • Prior
    experience of working with ICT for Development is also advantageous
  • Prior
    experience of working with innovation is desired
  • Past
    experience of working with inclusive business and corporate social
    responsibility.
