Strømme Foundation (SF) is a Norwegian Non-Governmental Organisation
(NGO) which provides humanitarian development assistance to needy communities
in the third world countries for greater equality and quality of life with
dignity. SF does not directly implement such development activities but
collaborates with and enables indigenous registered NGO’s or CBO’s to carry out
such activities. Main areas of concentration, is in the sectors of Education
and Microfinance. The Regional Office of SF in Kampala, is an extension of the
Head Office in Norway, and was set up to coordinate the work of the SF partner
NGO’s in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and South Sudan and also
provide necessary services, information, etc to its Head Office in
Kristiansand, Norway.
Job Summary: The Donor
Liaison Officer will be responsible for providing a high quality donor
administration service to our existing and new major donors. The Donor Liaison
Officer is responsible for providing a high quality donor administration
service to our existing and new major donors. He/she will be tasked with the
responsibility of ensuring that there’s efficient follow up on all major
donors’ activities within Stromme Foundation East Africa region. This includes
preparation and coordination/facilitation of donor visits as well as ensuring
timely and accurate donor reports are submitted to the key contacts both within
and outside Stromme Foundation. By virtue of these responsibilities the
individual is expected to be self-confident, flexible with an outgoing personality
that is fused with energy and attention to detail. In addition, desired
individual is one that is passionate and well informed about development work,
a good team player who is articulate and not afraid of bringing new approaches
to improved donor administration in Stromme Foundation with an aim of creating
good lasting impressions with donors.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Major Donor relations – facilitate
    communication between SFEA donors and supported interventions. This will
    include furnishing them with accurate and timely reports like quarterly,
    annual cycle reports and half yearly basis.
  • Organize for, receive and facilitate donor
    groups or individuals visiting the region and ensure they experience a
    memorable time. These may include corporate company teams, school teams,
    visitors from funding partners and volunteer youth coming on exchange.
  • Together with the Communications Officer,
    ensure that accurate information is provided to the SF Kristiansand office
    to enable them carry out fundraising activities.
  • Actively participate in the region’s
    fundraising efforts
  • Participate in developing periodic program
    report
  • Provide Executive Assistance to the
    Regional Director
  • Responsible for periodic monitoring of
    supported interventions so as to get acquainted with what goes on in the
    field and various program outcomes
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:  
  • All applicants should possess a first
    relevant degree
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in a
    similar position, preferably with an International Non-government organization
  • All reports require supporting success
    stories.
  • Possession of good writing skills as well
    as photography and video clip shooting skills will be of great advantage.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across
    Eastern Africa and any other Stromme Foundation project areas.
  • Excellent communications, cheerful
    disposition, discretion, organizational skills, excellent people skills
    and public relations skills and of high integrity
  • Good knowledge or experience in
    development work and working in a multi-cultural environment
  • Significant experience of working in a
    multi-cultural setting
  • A committed and practicing Christian
