About Mengo:
Mengo Hospital is the oldest
hospital in Uganda which was established by Sir Albert Cook in 1897. Today, the
hospital is an urban community hospital with all the amenities of a modern
hospital. Mengo Hospital, a Church of Uganda founded Private-Not-For-Profrt
Institution, with capacity of 300 beds.
Job Summary: The
incumbent Deputizes the Principal Nursing Officer and helps support in taking
lead of the Nursing Division.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    applicant must be a qualified double trained registered Nursing Officer
    with broad hands-on experience in Nursing and midwifery. Possession of
    additional qualifications such as BSc Nursing Degree, training in Health
    Services Management is a competitive advantage.
  • Additional
    qualification and hands-on training in Health Services Management etc. is
    a competitive advantage
  • The
    applicant must be computer literate.
  • A
    minimum of ten or more serving as a Health Worker, three (3) of which must
    have been at Senior Nursing Officer level and above, preferably in a
    Hospital;
  • Possess
    good leadership skills
  • The
    candidate must also be registered and licensed by UNMC;
  • Computer
    literacy skills is a requirement.
Age: Above 40 years.
